Default Pregnant in Italy

Hi all,

Just found out that I'm pregnant again and am desperate to know how the system works over here. For example back home I would just need to contact my midwife and that's it. However over here do I need to see a Gynaecologist???? I tried searching all forums for some info, but couldn't find anything.

If anyone has any info regarding antenatal care it would be greatly appreciated!!! I am living in Vigolo, Bergamo.

Hi there. Congratulations! re your query I would think that you would need to see your local doctor who would then, I imagine, point you in all the right directions for a midwife, hospital care etc. Good luck.

Thanks Rina. Will do. Further to my query, I'd be interested to hear about others' experiences of having a baby in Italy. I spoke with a woman from the UK and she regrets having her baby in Italy as she had a really really bad experience here.....

Good luck and God Bless! I am sure that all will be well. I wish I had more information for you but I do not really know how to answer your question.
