Default Mi Buon

I'm very proud of myself. We ate an Italian resteraunt owned by an Italian family from Potofino for my birthday.I managed to speak a little Italian with the waiter. I started off by saying bellisimo and as usual I was nervous and messed up. My husband wound up correcting me. I then told him I was trying to learn Italian in English and switched to Italian. He told me he understood both in Italian and English. He wound up speaking Dutch, Italian, and English with me.

I noticed that I have learned a little bit more Italian since I went to Sicily. I may have messed up on words, but I am slowly learning more. That makes me very happy.

I had help from this message board, so I thought I would share the good news. You'll just have to be more patient with me when it comes to writting Italian. I haven't gotten that far yet.

Oh ya! Felice is happy and Buon is good. Why the heck did I think happy was buon?

I should have said Mi Felice rather than Mi Buon. It would have been wrong but at least I wouldn't look like a complete fool.

See Villa! See why I'm hard on myself?! I wound up trying to say I'm good rather than I'm happy. And of course I got Mi and Sono mixed up.

Now have you ever wound up making a mistake like that? lol

Hi Melissa,
If you go into Google there are quite a few FREE language courses. Just type in 'Free Italian Lessons' and a choice will come up.You can listen to questions and hear the correct pronunciation and then answer the multi choice questions. It is really good and you can also play 'matching' which is helpful for your vocabulary.
I look in on it all the time....

Grazie alassiolady!

I didn't know there were free lessons. I shall take advanatage of them then. Hopefully I won't be saying Buon rather than Felice when I want to say I'm happy again. I can't believe I used good rather than happy.
