Default Italian women in Italy

Well most Italian women in Italy now are not that much different than American or UK women.
It depends more on the single case scenario than the culture overall. Italian American women tend to be much more conservative than Italian women in Italy

I cannot speak for Italian women as I don't know them that well but I can speak about Russian or even eastern european women. And from my visits to Italy and my interaction with Italians I can safely conclude that our cultures are very similar.

Now about women. I think we are different on the other side of the globe compare to here. More feminine this is for sure. More streight forward yes indead. More approachable. Still a bit old fashioned.. still believing in love and romance.

This is prospective of a woman who never tried to pick up another woman Hahah :-)

In my current situation I'd risk to say something very cynical or something very banal about it ( ) , so I suggest you to check for some thread in which we talked a lot about it.

I was CO in the US Army and got married to an Italian girl from Ancona. It was a terrifying experience... too jealous!!
Thanks but no thanks.

Terry:
I lived in Vicenza, Italia molto tempo fa and then went back to Italy last year. Things have changed a bit. (Gia e piu facile.)
Le ragazze in Vicenza tended to be somewhat prudish but it all depended on the situation. You kind of had to be somewhat properly
introduced. Just walking up to ragazze(girls) and to start a conversation come in California non era tanto facile. I found out that
the sales clerks would naturalmente talk to you and I would take advantage of that. I got a date una volta cosi. Mi ricordo che una
me ha detto, "Tu sei molto bello."
At the beach and at the ski resorts pero era completamente diverso. All the girls there would talk
to you senza problema. It was kind of an interesting phenomenon to say the least. It was like two different seperate worlds.
At any rate I was always on the look out for meeting ragazze. Si, ero pazzo per le ragazze italiane.

In Perugia this past year the Italian ladies seemed to be more open. However you might get rejected in the big cities too because
the girls have to be on guard for con artists e cosi via. Per esempio I was with this fellow lady student from Brazil and we were
asking for directions. Well several young ladies completely avoided her when she tried to talk to them. At first I thought it was
because they were unfriendly but later I found out about the non-Italian con artists in Perugia.

Over all just remember that Italian girls are more approachable at the beach, at the snow sking resorts and when you're somewhat
properly introduced or at a dancing type club. Ma you just never know who you might meet just around the corner anywhere in Italy.

I agree. In the 11 months I spent in Rome I didn't meet one Italian girl. Moreover, I didn't even have a single word with one of them! Apparently, talking to a foreign man is not the done thing ("non si fa"). No matter how good-looking, good-hearted or interesting you are, they avoid you like the plague (no need to tell that if you do happen to possess one or more of the above qualities, Italian males will deliberately NOT introduce you to their female friends -after all, Machiavelism is utterly Italian).

My experience makes me feel pity for foreign men who, assuming that Italy equals La Dolce Vita, expect they might have a relationship, romance or even a fling with an Italian woman.
If you are foreign, Italy definitely is a great place for love and romance provided that you are female.

I'm a strong believer in the fact that every single person is different wherever you go, I've never been to Italy but I think every woman there are different too.

I was in Italy with a friend, Naples area. I can say that I might have had an advantage cause i knew my friends family, but we went out for new years . The women did not know us but I found that they were very easy to talk to and loved to dance. I had a great time not like the american bar scene where would just get a buz from beer. In Italy it is much more fun as far as my experiance. The other thing was that a women may slow dance with you also even though she does not know you that well. You do have to be respectable . I asked one of his cousins to slow dance. Wish I would have talked to her more but 2 weeks and we were back to the USA . At least this was my experiance many moons ago!
