Question California new conio (banknotes)

Hi all of you.

Just for mere curiosity what do you thing about.

I found by chance this web-press article: ->link

The auditor of the state of California, John Chiang, announced in January that the coffers were dry. Bills exceeded the income from fees and credit lines. For this reason, the state would have started to print their own banknotes: true "we'll pay." The graphics of the new issue is ready.
Instead of receiving their tax rebates, in dollars, the citizens of California will get only the "we'll pay notes". Also the funding to education and pensions of people with disabilities will be issued in the form of "pagherò". California is negotiating with banks to convince them to accept deposits in this form of payment.
what do you know abut it?

Well I live in California so am very interested in anything to do with California.

As far as I know a budget has been passed in California resolving for now the problem. "It's clearly a budget because there are a lot of numbers in it." G.W. Bush
“There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, ... probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, dah, ah, shame on dah, ah — shame on you. Fool me — dah ah, you can't get fooled again." You guessed it. G.W.

Interesting about that California money though. Seems I heard something about it. Will ask around.

While we're on the subject of California according to the California Department of Finance, if California were an independent country and not a state of the U.S., it would have the seventh largest economy in the world putting it ahead of the whole country of Italy, France, Mexico, Brazil...

The world economy rankings are:

1. United States
2. China
3. Japan
4. India
5. Germany
6. United Kingdom
7. Russia
8. France
9. Brazil
10. Italy
11. Spain
12. Mexico (Mexico ahead of Canada) LOL!
13. Canada
14. South Korea
(2007 estimates)

Villa 1000 thanks for the reply.
The table at the end of the your post is correct.
When I found and read this "strange" article I was amazed (Pls, note that is on italian language).
Maybe, depends on the type of information that is spreads also here in Italy and which is meant to suggest that, after all, there are other states or regions that are worse!
Grazie to the net but also to this furum one can think with own head!

What means ...... " dah, ah,"..... ? Se posso indovinare forse è un vezzo (habit?), un modo di intercalare...... del vostro ex-presidente.
ehh..., unfortunately we are un bel pò indietro on the varius internazionali rankings... Justice (too much long time), press freedom, anti-pain terapy.... pills day-after , class actions,etc.. etc.. [troppi "ce ne stanno" (forma dialettale)]

SO, even there is a problem with banks in USA, as on all over nel mondo finanziario, exists [for example: Lehman Brothers, Citybank and BoA (Bank of America, did you know that the founder of the BoA was an Italian-American genovese: Arturo Giannini)], quello che conta is "how to deal up!"
We have had cirio, parmalat e if your class actions had not intervened I really doubt that people should seen something.
Ad esempio we have not a procedure like Ch.11.; might be Lehman forse si riprenderà but everything happens in daylight. Isnt'it so? What do you think?

Hi Villa. The last estimate for 2008 in the UK press was that Italy was poised to overtake the UK last year

Maybe I should sell the house in London pronto!

Mark, Do you think that the UK should have also converted to the Eruo along with Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the rest of the European countries that did? Seems they missed the boat come quasi sempre.

Not too sure on that - Eire (Irish Republic) converted to the Euro and are in a worse state than the UK, so I don't think it's a lack of the Euro that's screwing the UK.

It's more likely the massive social spending on 15 yr olds and younger having babies, supporting work-shy unmarried "families" with 6+ kids, then money spent trying to police the little sods when they cause trouble as their parents don't give a damn about them as they're too busy filling out their social security claim forms...........plus the bankers (RBS take note) who lose billions, get bailed out by the state, and then take £695,000.00 pension a year after paying millions in bonuses to the other incompetents in the banks the UK public now own!

And you guys think Bush was bad! Compared to Brown he's a Saint!

Anch'io credo che l'U. K. starà alla larga dagli europei.

Mr. Brown was the first to adopt anti-cyclical measures from RBS guarda invece in che condizioni il santo ha lasciato:

02. 27. 09
Prodotto Interno Lordo del quarto trimestre 2008 che è stato ben al di sotto delle attese. Con una flessione del 6,2%, il dato ha segnato il risultato peggiore dal primo trimestre del 1981/2.

Do you believe that was a good thing to (B)push down Lehman ch. 11 (if I remember correctly there was also the cousin of saint involved)

If you own some R. E. in Londra (-> LINK)se devi vendere per investire è meglio che ti sbighi guarda a ManHttan cosa succede!!!!!! --> LINK
