| | Hello from Tampa
Hello
My name is Larry, and I currently live in Tampa.
What a great site, I found it surfing on yahoo.
I've been to Italy numerous times, and I'm looking forward to my next trip in 2009.
I'm thinking of going to Cinque Terre and Palermo (to visit my mother's family).
A presto
Larry

Hi Larry.
Where in Tampa do you live? I currently live in St Pete, 20 miles away.
I like the Tampa Bay area, especially the beaches and the great winter weather. Not too crazy about the summer heat, hurricanes, alligators, and the flat terrain. Coming from a hilltop town in Italy I miss mountains and hills....

| | wow! a lot of Floridians
Ciao Augustus, and everybody
I didn't realize there were a lot of Floridians!
I live in South Tampa, right near the Gandy Bridge.
I know St. Pete pretty well, I used to work at the hospital over there.
I especially love Mazzaro's and Casa del Pane.
And they have (I think it starts this month) an Italian mass once a month at St. Jude's.
A presto!
Larry

| | Any Relatives in Gloucester?
Hi Larry, welcome to the forum.
My paternal grandmother's maiden name was Aiello and there are plenty of others here in Gloucester, MA. Most of them trace their family back to Terrasini, just outside Palermo.
You'll love Palermo and Cinque Terre in the off-season is incredible. One of my favorite memories of Italy was watching the fishermen carry up thier swordfish to the restaurants one september morning.

Hello Justin,
No, I don't have any relatives anywhere in Ma. as far as I know. Although the name is not that common, so they could be distant relatives.
The Aiello's on my side trace their roots back to Calabria. My father was from Cosenza.
In fact, there is even a town in Calabria called Aiello. Very very small town. I think there was only one street light.
take care
Larry

Larry, the only Aiello i know in italy, and the only one google maps knows is just north of Abruzzo. Thats not in Calabira. Are you sure about that location? My mother is from Spadola, a VERY small town in Calabria and that does show up on google maps
