Default Italian Flowers

I have to confess that last Sept I picked a variety of wild seed heads from the beautiful pastures around our house in Abruzzo.

One came from a very unusual Mullien with yellow flowers and a pink center.

Almost all the seeds germinated and at the moment I have several plants growing in different parts of the garden. This amazes me as its been an awful summer in the UK.I'm going to try some more next year.

Has anyone else tried this?

Default Italian plants

I myself collect seeds, from just about every fruit and herb, also from flowers that I find odd and beautiful. It may be a good idea to collect fruit seeds, someday if GMO spreads we may no have anything natural left!

I would love to collect seeds like this, but I think I lack patience to pick them, store them, and put them away.....a lot of work. All my plants were bought as plants, and most don't grow from seeds.

Try bulbs ! - they are real fun and will never let you down.
www.florianabulbose.eu - look up the daffodil show, Mostra del Narciso, and visit for free.

It can be difficult growing different plants where they are not usually found. Jonathan Radford (our Italian garden expert) can help you out, send him an e-mail!
