It has a lot of useful verb workbook exercises and for each verb tense has some nice little stories or letters.
A proposito. Answers are in the back. Example:

L'estate scorsa sono andato in Italia con alcuni amici. Una volta in Italia, abbiamo preso il treno da una citta all'altra.
Ci e piaciuto viggiare in treno. E molto comodo e non abbiamo dovuto cercare un parcheggio. Abbiamo camminato molto. Abbiamo
visitato molti musei e abbiamo mangiato molti gelati italiani. I gelati italiani sono famosi in tutto il mondo. Abbiamo passato
due settimane in Italia. Ci siamo molto divertiti e ci ricorderemo di questo viaggio per molto tempo!

Last summer I went to Ialy with some friends. Once in Italy, we took the train from one city to another. We liked traveling by
train. It is very comfortable, and we did not have to look for parking. We walked a lot. We visited many museums, and we ate a
lot of Italian ice cream. Italian ice cream is famous all over the world. We spent to weeks in Italy. We had
a great time, and we will remember this trip for a long time!

That being said you also really need "The Big Green Book of Italian Verbs." 555 Fully conjugated Italian verbs with lot of examples.
You can really never have to many books to learn Italian. Try to buy one a week or every pay day.
