Yes, the H at the beginning of a word is always silent.
And the pronunciation of gl is [ʎ] if you know IPA chart, otherwise it's hard to explain because I don't recall any similar sound in English, but definitely not similar to a normal L, it's a mistake many foreigners do.

i just started adding the learning Italian section on the main website - I took a different approach to pronunciation. I am sure it will work for American - I am not sure about for example the Nilo friend since I am not sure on how many of those world are used in Egypt

VOWEL PRONUNCIATION IN ITALIAN | Italy

- The Italian section is under developing and it should be done by the end of the Summer

I think the nearest equivalent in English is "ll" as in "million". Not 100% correct, but fairly close.

ok I have a question too, it's about the "c" when do I know it's pronounced like "ch" and when do I know it's pronounced like a "k" or "c" like in english? are there certain letters before or after it that control its pronunciation? or should I just know the exact words?
and I know this is my first time to help anyone with Italiano (cuz I'm the one who needs help all the time and still do ) but I can tell you a trick that can help with the "R", it's experimented and proven to be efficent
say "rrrrrrrrrrrrrr" funny I know but it helps you to mantain that vibrating sound with your tongue, just touch the roof of your mouth behind your teeth with the tip of your tongue as villa said and breath out of your mouth, first do it for sometime without associating the Rs with any word but then do it in the middle of words like rrrrrrado and time by time reduce the number of Rs in your words, and tell us how it goes

Nouran, about the "c" pronunciation
I'll tell the little thing i know about it .. and may one of the experts give you the whole info
if the letter comes before an e or i, it is pronounced as ch in English
e.g. Certo and Ciao
but if we put h after the c, it will be pronounced as k
e.g. chiave and che
and with the rest of the letters it is a normal k
e.g. mercato, curvo, cavallo

that's all i know i hope it's all right

Yes Falco it's right. To sum it up:
c + i, e = [tʃ] - like in chess
c + a, o, u = [k] - like in kit
c + he, hi = [k]
