I'm sure we can all tell you that we have our own recipes, but are you looking for a place where you can get a dish?

Looking for a Prepared Pasta E Fagioli in a package (Can, Frozen Package) Progresso makes a canned Macroni and Beans thats the only one I have found so far that comes close. Thanks Chris

In all due respect, why would you want a prepared pasta e fagioli. It may be one of the easiest dishes to make if you take a small shortcut (using canned beans, but rinsed so all the sodium and junk is washed off). I make it in a pinch, but even if you use dry beans and soak them in advance, this is a very simple dish. I can honestly say that in America, Pasta e fagioli is often BUTCHERED and it's a shame.

...but please don't buy canned or prepackaged pasta e fagioli.

I entirely agree with you here,. The very thought of a canned pasta fagioli or a ready made one makes me want to heave. As you point out, making your own is so simple & delicious. I like to add a little chopped celery to mine for extra flavour too.

You might want to look on food network's website for it. Don't forget the Italian-American version of it is called "pasta fazul".

Italian food is so easy to make, I could never understand why people would buy packaged versions either.

That's the response I was longing to hear. I agree with your post and blog and now maybe
I might get the opportunity to fullfil an empty spot in the gourmet culinary cuisine of prepared foods, for those on the run. Thanks Chris

Well if that is the reason of your post ...good luck - I did have a database ( that I have to update ) where I test several Italian food sold in the US - See Main Index - Italian Food
I am not sure how well you can 'save' pasta e fagioli in a can / jar since pasta tends to grow and fill with water ... anyway if you try the experiment try not to make the mistake most of Italian-American cousine does ( overpowering everything with garlic and powder garlic ) -
Buona fortuna
