Default the best coffee of Rome

Do you like coffe? I love it, and every day in the afternoon, after a long day of study, I like to take coffee with my friends (I don’t like the “happy hour” or “aperitivo” because I don’t like wine..)
If you pass in Rome for a touristic trip and you want a very good coffee, you can find the best one in Piazza Sant’Eustachio, Sant’Eustachio Square, near Pantheaon. In this square there are three bars, two of that are big and elegant, and one is very little and inside don’t have tables. In this small bar there is the best coffee I have ever drink(it is one of the oldest bar of Italy). The particularity is that you can see them when make coffee; they stay behind the coffee machine and you can’t see their particular way to make it.

Default The best Coffee in Napoli

There is a bar on the Nato Base in Bagnoli, that has been there since WWII and the machine they use is the old pressure type, the one that you have to pull the handle to squeeze the coffee out. Some of the Bariste have been there for 35-40 years and their right arms are huge from pulling the coffee! They also pre-sugar it and it always comes out perfetto!

Hello.

I'm from Rome too and I absolutely agree with Luca.
You won't find a better coffee in Rome than the Sant'Eustachio one.

Ancos, maybe you know of a very old (I believe it is one of the oldest) traditional butcher's shops in Rome? No coffee, but honest, traditional family service that dates back to ?? I lost the information on it, and would dearly love to visit when I am there.

Help!

Hi Sienna.

I'm not much of a meat eater, so I haven't a big knowledge on butcher' shops.

I cheked one of my books on Rome and found what seems to be the oldest (1898) shop still in activity: Annibale

http://www.annibale.com/home.html

It may be the oldest butcher's shop, but I cannot confirm it, because I haven't first hand informations.

I'll try to gather more informations, stay tuned!

Lavazza is a brand, like kimbo, trombetta.. in this bar ther is not the coffee of a famous brand, the particolarity is the way to make it..( I don't know it.. )

micio, the place in your photo is Ostia? 30 Km from Roma..

Sorry but I can't agree with you, there are too many wonderful coffees in Naples to choose the best one, I think Napoli is the city with the best coffee overall so it would be hard to choose.
