Default Best chocolate in the world comes from Italy!

Since 2005, the Committee of Experts of the London Academy of Chocolate has taste-tested over 300 brands
of chocolate, and for 4 years in a row, the Toscano Black 63 percent bar made by Amedei, a chocolatier located
outside Pisa and owned by a brother and sister team, has been selected as the best chocolate in the world.

Disagree!!! You can't beat a nice bar of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut. And as for special gift, Thornton's Continentals, now that is seriously good chocolate.

The Russian, Andiamo in Italia. A giugno vado via per lo meno io. Vuoi venire con me? E vuoi venire con me a ballare? Mi piace ballare.
Sto practicando molto l'italiano adesso.

Alassiolady, Je t'en prie. Pray tell where is this Cadbury's Fruit and Nut and Thornton's
Continentals chocolate made?

Have you heard of Baci and Perugina chocolate? An Italian confection tradition, Perugina
began in 1907 in the Umbrian hill town of Perugia dove sono andato alla scuola. The young
heir to Perugina, Giovanni Buitoni and confectioner Luisa Spagnoli created an exceptional
collection of fine chocolates that have withstood the test of time. In 1922, Luisa created
Perugina's signature chocolate, Baci or "kisses" in Italian. Legend has it that Luisa and
Giovanniwere secretly in love, and communicating their passion through love notes wrapped
around confections. From this amore came Pergina's greatest traditon, creamy dark chocolate
surrounding a rich hazelnut center that arrives wrapped in a love note scribed in
four languages. A truly delicious and romantic chocolate confection.

Nah!We've eaten Bacci di Alassio, and my son was sick all the way home to England, and I mean SICK! it was an allergy obviously. Then we have Terry's chocolate orange, oh! my you do not know what you are missing.....
I can honestly say that I have tried lots of chocolate in Italy, but I'm sorry Brit is best!! but our food is dreadful and I adore Italian food and have been lucky to have be taught how to cook traditional Italian food. My polpette are as light as a feather and I do a really good putanesca!! so there!

I always heard about Trappisti chocolate - I did not hear before from Amedei. I think I should add an article on the food section about Italian chocolate.

Villa, thank you for sharing. What a beautiful love story that let to creation of fine chocolate. Wow, only Italians can do that... Here in the US people would call a business meeting, will write a business plan, will taste the product and compare it to the standards and after that will take it to production.
