Remember the Milkman?
Raw Milk
Many Italians own goats and sheep, they milk them and drink it; unpasterized, unhomogenized, untainted. You may say UGH! It's dangerous, like I used to say, but in reality it's not; though we are conditioned to think that it is. What if we all knew that we could drink raw milk from healthy cows, then wouldnt we?
The milkman used to pass by everyday and leave that fresh glass bottle of milk, why? Because milk only lasted a day or two, then it went sour. How is it that our milk lasts a month...it really does?
That's simple, the milk is treated, it has changed. You lose many vital nutritional elements that way--and if you drank raw milk from conventional cows, it would kill you!-- Especially if the cows are diseased and sick; why do you think they are pumped with anti-biotics? Unfortunately I had to wait to realize this... I did in Itally. Many Italians do drink the milk from their own animals all the time...I've even tried it and it's wonderful!

There is only one motivation behind the mass marketed and overprocessed food on the shelves of American supermarkets and that is shelf life...it is profit driven by major corporations...I remember one time when I decided I wanted fresh bread everyday despite the risk of mold or going stale if I didn't finish it in one day....I took a remaining loaf of Wonder Bread or gomma piuma as the Italians call it and shoved it into the broom closet with the idea of feeding it to the pigeons at some point. Instead I forgot about it and several months later when I rediscovered it, it was as fresh as the day I found it...now there is a scarey thought...the hormones in American meat which the Europeans buoycott? Again driven by profit motive...why should every country in the world be drinking Coca Cola when it dissolves earth worms, removes rust from bolts and God only knows what it does to your teeth, liver, pancreas and general obescity...I could write a polemic about this but the last thing I want to mention is that when I was a boy growing up in Tirrenia, I kept two hens and a rooster and each morning I would drink a raw fresh egg...today if you tried that with a store bought egg from a cram packed chicken factory, you would risk salimonella not to mention it wouldn't taste any good...somewhere along the journey of offering mass production to the masses to make all things more available to all people, the quality of life has been lost...think of who you like to do business with...the small family owned company where you know the people personally or a giant corporation of me 'ne fregisti where you can never get the same person twice after you are passed through the interminable instructions in the maze of secreteria automatica...

Milk The Right Way--RAW
Brian
Thats true the only reason for pasterization and homogenization is to economically benefit the corporations--not humans--this makes the shelf live must longer..for sales of course. But the best form for human health is raw milk raw.
And people believe them when they claim they must do it to kill bacteria..
Nowadays they feed cows feces and meat (goes against their nature) and so yes, they contract disease..now, we have no choose but to destroy helpful enzymes and wipe out valuable vitamins through pasterization.., but they did all this for greed to begin with. I drink fresh gost's milk here in Italy and its not strong at all, instead its lighter than cow's milk and lasts only 1 day- 1 day 1\2. It was straight from the goat's body--a healthy goat's body.Posted 01-11-2008 at 04:20 PM by jacqueline
