From where I sit here in Bella Roma, we are undecidedly into an unprecedented phase of global warming, but, I’m not complaining. Each day, you wake up to another beautiful blue sky. It’s simply gorgeous.
But, I remember a few year’s back, when the mercury hit well over 100 degrees for weeks. That was the infamous summer when the French declared that 8000 people had perished prematurely due to the heat. And where, we all believed the figure to be much higher here in Italy, but nobody ever...

There are a couple of financial scandals going on in America (just a couple?!) that have piqued my interest these days. I'm talking about American-born Angelo Mozilo, former head of the largest home lending Company, Countrywide Financial, and Italian Raffaelo Follieri, better known as Anne Hathaway’s ex.
Now, I’m not implying that the Italians have cornered the market on graft and corruption – just one look at the litany of Wall Street scandals, Enron, Worldcom, lobbyist money, sex...

Well, it's that time of year again...time to find dozens of dogs dead at the side of the highway each time you go out for a ride. The government came out with an official number, close to 600,000 abandoned dogs each year. Now, that's double last year's figure so I question the accounting but heck, even if it were only 150 -- that'd be 149 too many.
