I am planning on visiting Italy in October for 8 days and read somewhere that because I am staying longer than a week--even though by just a day--I am required to obtain a form to hand in at a nearby post office upon my arrival, stating my purpose for my visit, etc. Is this necessary? Has anyone else heard of this and is it advisable to pursue and if so, how?

Thanks,

Jazzboi

If you are a tourist i don't think you need anything. I knew that if you want to live in italy you have 8 days to go to questura and sign a particular form.

Thank you Saporedisale! I am going to trust that you are correct, unless anyone else addresses my question to the contrary.
