Actually make that due estati....I spent 2 seasons working in Lidi di Comacchio in the province of Ferrara...I also travelled around a good bit, luckily, because Lidi really aren't all that pretty. That said, those two summers were hands down the best two periods of my life! The people I met were all amazing and I still have loads of friends there who I hear from all the time. I'm just back from two weeks in Florence and saw loads of my buddies, and made some new ones. I'm hoping to move to Verona as soon as I finish my finals in uni in June.
I think the best thing about Italy is how open the people are...I mean I'm Irish and we're supposed to be friendly but the Italians are out of this world.
One of my best memories from Italy has to be the night Italy beat France in the final of the world cup! That was absolutely the best party I've ever seen even though the bar I was working in was completely destroyed, I have some other great stories from Italy but there not really suitable!:p
Other things I love about Italy
1) the men
2) any drink involving campari
3) nero d'avola
4) pecorino cheese (especially di grotta)
5) the music!!! (tiziano, negramaro, nek, all brilliant)
6) did I mention the men?
I realise that this is very incoherent but I'm so passionate about Italy that every time I start talking about it I get over excited.
Ciao
