I have had to priviledge of visiting your beautiful country 6 years ago. Wonderful food, architecture, people, scenery, sunflowers, wine, olive oil, antipasta, etc...

I will introduce myself more on another post.
I am in nursing school here in the USA and have study topic to cover for the country of Italy and it's senior citizens.

What is the contributions of the elders to the family life?
Are they valued (I know they are but need to expand on this idea more.)

Also, I am to discuss housing situations that are available to the older adult. This is for a class in Geritology.

Any comments, resources, web sites would be welcome.
My deadline is in 8 days.

Thanks for your post. I am looking for any info that would specifically relate to Elderly adults in Italy.

Specific questions: What is the prominent health care belief system? What is the contributions of the elders to family life, are they valued?

I have found a little info on the internet but not a lot that is user friendly.
