Hi,
Have just discovered the site. Am thinking about sometime in the future as my kids are still at home, but at 44 just now, want to think of what I could do in the not so didtant future, so thinking about finding out about being a mature au pair/Nanny. Anyone got any views on that for me?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
As regards your chosen career, I'd say go for it! You're never too old and I'm sure there are people who would appreciate the benefit of maturity and experience and consider it to be a bonus. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! ;)

I think since you already have kids, you have the necessary qualifications for being a nanny, and in this area of work, age is actually a blessing because it is supposed to give you experience and maturity. Two of my friends have nannies and both are past 45 years old, they do excellent jobs and are indispensable to the parents right now.
