Ciao a tutti!

I am new to this forum - and new to the 'blog' notion in general (is this a blog..!??! )- but here goes..!!?

I am planning to go to Italy with my two children for a year at the end of May, and I'd like to have some advice on shipping personal belongings from the US (Virginia), like books, and maybe some clothes and cds.

I'd also love some advice on schooling for the girls.
I'm heading to Florence, and my girls are 10 (5th grade) and 13 (7th grade), and, no, we don't speak Italian...yet!

So, I welcome any helpful information!

Thanks!

Best,
Angela

Hi Angela
Can you give us some more information ? There are freight forward companies of course at Dulles airport in VA for items 100kg or more.
Are you shippping a car as well ? I assume it will not cost you anything more to fill up the trunk of the car ( I am not sure is allowed recently however with the new securoty restrictions... you will have to ask ).
Anyway where are you going and what is the weight of the items you would like to ship ?
Ciao
Paolo

Hi Paolo,

I have an additional question about shipping things to Italy. If I wanted to ship things but had no final address, is there a "general delivery" I could send to at particular post offices?

If I wanted to live in Rome, for instance, is there a place to send things where they would hold for me to pick up?

Thanks!

Teresa
