Who is living in Milan and what is your story?

I'm planning on living in Italy for at least one year while working on a writing project. I can live anywhere in the country I choose but I know very little about the land. Milan has always been a buzz word for me and a place I've dreamed of living for years. Have you been there? Have you been to other cities in Italy? Lived there?
