paolo 01-17-2007, 10:12 PM We are updating the website. We need suggestions on improvements, new features and WE REALLY NEED YOUR FEEDBACK about your experience with this site.
What would you expect to find on this site etc etc -
Any ( constructive ) suggestion welcome
Paolo
I would reduce some of the topics. For example, discussions could include general as well as controversial issues. Culture could include arts/movies etc.
I would also have a section on the twenty regions, where members can post information and experiences about visiting or living in a particular region. I would include the bad as well as the good, the aim being to provide a guide to Italy and its regions.
Raimondo 01-18-2007, 05:36 PM ciao Paolo, an idea for which I'd like to offer my services. I am only now discovering the wonderful Italian community here in New York City. As I am a writer, my thought would be to write a monthly feature on some aspect surrounding the community here. I'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you about this.

italiangladiator 01-21-2007, 12:23 PM Ciao Paolo

saporedisale 01-25-2007, 11:05 PM I think you guys can use more italian for people who like to learn italian..........and also you have to order something off the site!
Buon lavoro!!!!
bubbles 01-29-2007, 09:15 AM For the website, I think we need more and more pictures: pictures for all the articles, possibly.
Maybe a few more links to vendors and retailers in Italy. For example food vendor links in food articles, fashion retailer links in fashion articles.
Maybe an advice column would be good too. A regular advice column on food, recipes, relationships, fashion, travel, tourism and so on, all relevant to Italy.
Including a few reviews on latest Italian books and films, fashion ramps and so on would be very welcome.
joniosea 02-02-2007, 07:12 PM you guys are amazing.......you give a very good service for people who care about Italy! Sometimes it needs to be little cleaner. Thanks for everything ;-)
What we need is more people on this forum spreading the word about not only this up and coming forum, but the website itself!
Guys, there are tons of different tools that can judge and rate a website, and thats what we need the most! For instance there is:
Search n' Sniff, Digg, Reddit, Furl, Del.icio.us, Spurl...to name a few.
http://www.searchnsniff.com
http://digg.com
http://reddit.com/
http://www.furl.net/
http://del.icio.us
http://www.spurl.net
http://www.stumbleupon.com/
If you go to any of these sites and then submit a positive note for LifeinItaly, it can go a long way in helping every area of the website improve, from the content, to the people who post on this board! Tell everyone you know, because word of mouth is more effective than spending thousands on advertisng!
And there is the products we sell, like our ceramics which are second to none. Handmade in Italy for you, no two exactly alike, custom painted by one person? Thats pretty cool if you ask me.
Anyways, those are my thoughts, please suggest more and more, every little bit helps!
Fiamma 02-07-2007, 12:02 PM Ciao,
have you already chosen the region where you are going to stay?

jacqueline 03-16-2007, 10:53 PM Good Idea Dan, I will look this sites up.
I have an idea. How about putting on a testimonal section? I mean those people that have real been helped by this site, a place where they can thank you for your services ecc-this is always nice to hear.
Micio 03-18-2007, 06:53 AM i say keep it simple..don't overload it anymore than (I think) it already is.. but i would like to hear about italian history. thanks paolo.. gwen

xxx. Keep up the good work
paolo 04-02-2007, 12:49 AM Ivano

Barbara 04-11-2007, 12:50 AM What happened to the painted furniture section. It appears you just took it down. I am really interested in it.
Angelica 04-23-2007, 07:47 AM I think you need to add a links page where members can post their websites or their favorite websites ;)
For some reason I don't think you'll like the idea
Ciao e auguri
bubbles 06-18-2007, 09:10 PM I know we have a forum on the site where we can post our comments, but I was thinking it would be nice if people could comment on the articles on Italy we already have on the site. They could rate it or recommend it, suggest what else they would like to know about on that particular topic, or share additional information. This would make the reading experience more dynamic and interactive.
A lot of popular websites have this feature for their articles, and it not only brings in more readers, it also makes the reading experience more attractive.:)
sardoman 11-11-2007, 02:05 PM First of all I'd like to say this is a great forum, not just in the way it is presented but also for the quality of the posts. So many other forums are full of people bitching.
I have noticed in the short time I have been a memeber that the number of people joining is good, but the number of active users is dropping.
I was thinking that to encourage others to join, and maybe also to stimulate those who don't actively take part, the forum could activate polls. Quite a few threads include questions and having a poll could provide for extra interest.
I work for a cultural association in Sardinia with about 700 members worldwide, I'll get my boss to add a link to the site and forum in our next newsletter.
Markymark 01-11-2008, 10:47 PM I love the site, but the Christmas "snow" made it a pain to use on a laptop - it may be unnoticable on a standard desktop PC, but either because of the memory or processor usage  , the snow made it a slow and noisy experience on my somewhat decrepit laptop. Now it's great! Please keep up the good work. Thank you.
