I have been friends with a few Italian women, and here are some tips which you could possibly use:D!


If you are not sure of the sizes of the women in their 40's,scarves are usually a good idea. Try something sleek, rich and not too shiny in colors like black, steel grey and cream: sure to be a hit! Scarves are a great fashion accessory, and easy to shop. Ethnic self-colored (black-on-black or cream on cream and so on, if you know what I mean) scarves are really in, and should make them happy. Bags make great gifts too, but remember the Italians create the best bags, so it is hard to find something non-Italian that would appeal to the refined tastes of an Italian donna;)



For a trendy 21-year old, the gift to win her over would be jewelry to die for, because when you are young, you usually cant afford custom-made jewelry. (Unless one is like Paris Hilton, of course!) Pick something that is one-of-a-kind, or exclusive, because mass-produced jewelry is so not on this season. Circle shapes are really hip, so go for circular pendants, solid circle earrings, and maybe try some gold. Gold is really in and if you choose a warm but non-shiny tone that complements European skin, you have got yourself a winner!
