Hello, my name is Sam Scola (originally from Gloucester, MA) and I'm trying to track down some ancesters from Terrasini Sicily. Below are some people who I'm trying to find out about. If you have any info or need any info about these people or descendants, please email me at Sam@ScolaFamily.com

Vincenzo (James) Nicastro (1874-19 Oct 1957)
Married to Grazia A. (Grace) Bologna (1879-1957)
They were both born in Terrasini and died in Gloucester

Vincenzo parent's are
Salvatore (Sebastian) Nicastro & Fillipa Lafata. They had 4 other children:
Giovanni Baptista Nicastro (1862-29 Jun 1942)
Joseph Nicastro (1872-18 Jun 1935)
Jeremiah (Jerry) Nicastro (14 Aug 1876-18 Apr 1941)
Marianna (Marion) Nicastro (22 Aug 1881-20 Jun 1966)
All of the children ended up in Gloucester, MA via Detroit, St. Louis, and other places.

I'm also looking for info on
Domenic Ambrose Verga (29 Jul 1894-Nov 1968) married to Giovanina (Jennie) Nicastro (24 Jun 1901-24 Apr 1993)
The wedding announcement lists "Dononico Diverga and Giovanina Nicastro"
Was taken in by Paisi and went by Domenic Parisi until he was to get to married and had to go back to his legal name
Cousins named Toco in San Pedro, CA, USA

One Last group of names
Samuel Scola (born about 1885) married to Ida Parco (about 1895)
They both had previous marriages. Samuel was married to Annie Frontiero (died Bet. 1917 - 1920). Ida was married to a Calomo.
They had 7 children between them
Guiseppe (Sandy) Calomo (1914)
Joseph Scola (1917)
Mary Calomo (1918)
Thomas Peter Scola (14 Oct 1921 - 21 Jun 1986) <-- This is my Dad's Dad
Antonio Scola (1923)
Vincenza Scola (1925)
Larence Scola (07 Oct 1928 - 20 May 1995)

Any information people have on these names would be huge. I have a lot of information about the descendants but not much about the ancesters. I know I have relatives in Terrasini still but I have never met them. I'm hoping to get there some day.

Thanks Again
-Sam Scola

Hi Sam,

I'm from Gloucester and I'm wondering if we're related. Sebastian (bikie) Scola is my grandfather, you may know him, he owned the fishing boat St. Peter.

About five years ago I went to Terrasini, but I didn't meet any relatives. But I did meet Piero Trupiano who has a photo studio there and he also has family that live in Gloucester. They might be of help for current living relatives still in Terrasini.

I'll ask my grandmother about the names you listed, if she has anything in her research I will email you.

Good luck,
Justin

Hi Sam,
I think I sent you an email about this back in January, don't know if you got it.

My grandfather is Sebastian Scola Jr. known as "bikie", married to Betty (MacDonald) Scola

My great-grandfather was Sebastian "Lefty-Busty" Scola, married to Olimpia "Lena" (Lupo) Scola

I also noticed that you are related to the Frontiero's - like the rest of Gloucester so you may want to look at this website:

http://www.downtosea.com/Genealogy/families/frontiero.htm

It is not 100% accurate but my family can be seen on #6.

As far as Terrasini - there are no more Scola's living there but the name can be found in other places.

Good luck
Justin
