Negli Stati Uniti gli italoamericani mangiano le sfogliatelle. Si mangiano in Italia o no?

Here in the USA Italian-Americans eat sfogliatelle. Are they still eaten in Italy?

I have eaten delicioso sfogliatelli at our wonderful, wonderful local ristorante Bella Napoli. The owner, Biaggi, is from Napoli and he and his sons run it. The food is excellent! When we go there with my Italian teachers, Biaggi makes sfogliatelli just for us. It is not on the regular menu.

Ah San Marzano tomatoes, pasta becomes divine using them!
Ischia wine I never tried it though, I prefer beer.

"You can put as much rum as you want on it, if you were born an asshole you will never become a Baba'(rum cake)."

How's that? Close enough?

Really close Danno, the meaning is correct :)
But strunz (stronzo in Standard Italian) is closer to "turd", so even the literal meaning is full.
I'd translate it like this:
"You can put as much rhum as you want, if you're a turd you won't become a Babà"
:)

Okay, I got my translation from a Sicilian friend so it may have gotten lost in translation.
I used to have an Italian phrase book and most of the phrases had to do with curse words or sex. I should have kept it.
I'll have to think of an english equivalent.

The english equivelent is far more polite than the Neapolitan! :D

"You cant make a silk purse from a sows ear"

A more current translation ... "you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig".:D
