Ciao,
I’m Elizabeth, or Elizabetta as I’m called here in Italy. I was raised in New York, England and Roma. After 22 years in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, I decided to move to the provincia of Ascoli Piceno Le Marche.
I’ve been here for almost 4 months, and am meeting lots of people, Italians and also some ex-pats from England, Holland, and even a couple of Americans!
It's a beautiful area, full of art, nature, good food and people.
I am an architectural interior designer (see my web site: www.intdesignco.com) and I also own and run an internet boutique selling mostly Italian scarves, shawls and wraps ( www.elizabetta.net)
I’m looking for work in the area as a free lance design consultant, and have also started a business with my friend Hans where we look after houses owned by foreigners who cannot be here full time.
Hans is in the process of restoring a farm house and turning it into a bed and breakfast or agritursmo.
I’m fluent in Italian and have been helping Hans with the myriad of bureaucratic forms and permissions that one needs in order to restore a house, as well as create a business here. It’s a complicated and frequently befuddling process to say the least.
I’m glad to be here. Ever since I left Rome to move to the States, I’ve always wanted to return, and here I am!
All the best, and Happy Holidays,
Elizabetta
