Paolo,

This is the only forum I know that does not make use of stickies. I find these very useful on other sites because I can quickly find basic information and references without having to search through thread after thread.
What do others think?

They are very useful, but can also quickly become "out of date" and new threads always stimulate the forum.

Stickies are mostly used to always put in first view threads about rules and other fundamental threadws.
But here rules are greatly respected by all of us (I've seen no trolling, no flooding, no spam, just a little flaming but we're all passionate :p), so I don't think they would be particularly useful.
And I think they are a bit annoying graphically for everyday users.

But in the end I just press "New posts" when I come here so it wouldn't make any difference for me, that's why I voted "I don't care" :)

Well stickies are very useful for programming ( technical ) forums for example where people keep on asking the same questions -
Maybe in the touristic section ....
On this forum I would have to rationalize the answer a lot more to place a thread as sticky - Plus we never seem to agree on an answer, on any answer :-)
If anybody thinks of a sticky thread he should point it out and I will see if I should make it sticky.
Well I myself received for example several complain that the forum was getting too political but at the same time I see a lot more movement on the forum ...

At this time is most urgent for me to rewrite the main website so it will be all one with the forum ( It should be done by September )

Zidanie5- Thanks for the comments. I think that we have all seen an overuse of stickies, and I too would hate to see them everywhere. I agree that we are all a bunch of nice sensible (most of the time) people.

My problem is that I am getting old and my memory fails me so every now and then I spend some time looking back through posts to find some information especially on some of the not so active threads, but if it is only me then I can live with that.:p

Paolo- I really look forward to the new integrated version, I don't know how much you earn out of all your work on the site / forum but it isn't enough :D

Okay - I'm really lost here. I don't know what "stickies" are. Guess I'm completely out of touch. Sono una frana!! LOL

Stickies are threads that are always in the first line when you open a section. They are sticky because no matter since how much they're there, they won't move.
