I would just buy Lavazza or similar brand - However the Lavazza that you buy at the Supermarket here in the US is NOT the same as Italian espresso. I tried both and I cannot use the US Lavazza. I still wonder why the heck they would try to sell coffee in the US and change the mixture. Whoever goes to the Supermarket and expressly looks for Lavazza is not expecting a US mixture but he is looking for real Italian espresso. I have both here and I made a direct comparison: the US can produced a much lighter coffee.
Also most US sold espresso taste like burned coffee -

International Health Study & Cyberpresse reports
Caffeine, a member of the methylxanthines family, is naturally present in coffee beans, cocoa and tea leaves, and is known to be a stimulant.
Cyberpresse reports that studies have proven consuming caffeine can help promote weight loss and help with weight maintenance.
Some nutritionists are even recommending that their clients increase their use of caffeine when wanting to shed extra weight.
Studies carried out on rodents have shown that extended intake of caffeine aids in weight loss. The amount of weight loss was also proportional to the amount of caffeine consumed.
Another study, conducted over 12 years, showed that people who use caffeine regularly were less prone to weight problems.

MY advice as a small roaster myself is to buy some roasted beans from Sweet Maria's. (sweetmarias.com). I don't know of anyone in the business more knowledgeable and the quality is always top notch. You might want to think about roasting at home yourself. The same web site has tons of info on how to do that as well.

Forget all this home roasting and searching the world for the perfect bean stuff. The perfect coffee for excellent espresso is a brand called "Kimbo". They have many different blends but the very best are - black label "Espresso Napoletano" and the slightly smoother blue and white label "Aroma di Napoli". Kimbo is widely available online.
You cant beat it - no matter what Lavazza lovers say! :D

I have Kimbo , but once beans are roasted they tend to get stale quickly ***I have checked out sweet marias , it might be the way to go ***
thanks for the input / Fred ********

While I have never been to Italy to taste "true" Italian espresso, I really enjoy Illy! You can find them in supermarkets also. I buy it in Publix if you are from Florida
