[COLOR="SeaGreen"]Ciao Tutti, I am very pleased to join and greet you. It was my good fortune to stumble on this site while looking for a recipe :). I am naturally very busy at this time of year (Italian mothers live for Christmas), but will answer messages to the best of my ability.
I grew up surrounded by foods both from the north (my mother's birthpalce) and south (my father's birthplace) of Italy. I therefore have a very rich heritage. I must admit to speaking Turinese though, and so I learned English the hard way as a very small child. It came in very handy when I studied French because of my built in enunciation skills. Both languages are now sadly lacking because of the absence of another person to communicate with. You know the old adage..."what you don't use. you lose". But my love for cooking remains intact and I am passing my limited Italian language skills on to my grandchildren, whom all call me "Nonna":)
While I'm here, My (southern) Zia used to make very hard but delicious cigar style cookies with coffee, flour & whole peanuts; they were great dunked in a cup of coffee. Does this ring a bell with anyone out there? and if so, are you willing to share the recipe? I would be most grateful.
