Listening center I'll suggest you an online dictionary, the one I think it's the best, but I have to warn you about the fact that online dictionaries and translators are not always reliable. I suggest you to take a real dictionary (5Kgs and more :p), if you want to start learning Italian. Here's the link to Garzanti Linguistica (the only one that seems to provide real resources and not horrible translations): http://www.garzantilinguistica.it/

And here the page on Wikipedia about Italian Language, it is really useful, complete and full of good links for learning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_(language). Starting from zero it's important to read this page as it gives you a kind of first insight.

You can search Google for other dictionaries and translators, but look for different languages tool as you advance in your competence. Just write Italian followed by key words as Learning, Phonology, Phraseology, Morphology, etc.

As a first thing, before learning random terms, I think it'd be great to learn words positioning in a sentence, or you'll never be able to put the words you will find in the right order.

You are welcome, of course.
Yes Italian indeed lacks resources for learning, but in most cases they are simply deeply hidden. If you search good you will have a good amount of informations about our language.
