hi everyone...im in process of buying a house in campagnia with my partner...i have heard that if you dont fill in a form for residency your utility bills and ici taxes are double...do you actually have to live full time in the house to be elidgable for the permit of residency?and where do you apply please...many thanks in advance..im sure this has been asked many times...!:rolleyes:

Hi Estherina

To get the residency certificate, you would need to be in the house when the police call round (they are sent to check you actually live where you say). I don't think the time you spend there after that is overly important, but CJ or Frank are the experts on buying houses, so maybe they can help.

You can apply for residency at the local Anagrafe, who will fill in the necessary forms and arrange for the Vigili to visit. If you are an Italian national, then that should be all you need to do. If not, you may have to provide either a work contract, or means of support, and possibly medical insurance.
