Having lived in Naples for three years, I fell in love with the local bread. I tried to get a recipe for the Pane Cafone before I left but it was hard to come by. Has anyone come across a recipe for that bread? Gratzie!

Justin, I cannot open the youtube videos from work, not allowed. However I was able to do it at home and the video is very good. I tried the recipe last night and will attempt to bake the bread this evening. I'll let you know how it turns out. I did have a problem with the proportions though, since they were in metric.
Ciao, Dan

Okay, I baked the bread as per instructions and it stuck to the bottom of the pot. I had to rip it out. The taste was close but not the same as I remembered it.
I tried the recipe again with correct measurements and this time I put a little oil in the bottom of the pot. This time it did not stick but it was not as crusty as I would like. Maybe I should have misted it during the baking cycle? All in all it was okay but not any different than other bread recipes I have tried. Guess I'll just have to live on the memory.

Sorry I can't be much help besides the video. but don't give up -recipes are not always correct in a country where the best foods usually come from the grandmothers. You might have to make some modificaitions - which is a good thing, then you can call it your own :)
