Do you know any other name for the plant ? I never heard of Cagutsa and it is not an Italian word so I am thinking if it could be an Americanized Italian name and from what ... Any better description ?

Cagutsa pronounced "gah-gootz-ah" I'm pretty sure it's Sicilian for squash, sometimes zucchini but usually some sort of squash.

I have just planted an Italian squash this week called Zuchetta Serpentine di' Sicillia. It actually grows on a vine and can get quite large with a crooked neck. My wifes father gave me the seeds and he calls it Cuccuzi. It is quite good. Hope this helps.

That's the one- I've never seen Cagutsa spelled before. In my area a cagutsa is not only a squash but also another word for a dumbass.

Hey Eduardo nice pics of those tuna! When I was a kid my dad used to catch bluefin and grandpa once harpooned one from the bow of the family's old dragger. My dad's a charter captain up here in Gloucester but goes mostly for striped bass these days.

Hope you have a good season out on the vineyard.

Great Justin come on down this summer we can go out and catch a few. I love the north shore nice area. As you can see I do love to fish and have gone for giants mostly back in the 80's Our biggest one was 865 lbs.We did most of our fishing off of Chatham and the shipping lanes to the south. Now mostly for pleasure and food. I love this site a lot of fun and info. I am heading out to the garden.
