Berlusconi won apparently with a very strong vote and a support ( in votes ) that he never had before.
It was obviuos that Berlusconi would win - The Italian economy ( I think mostly because of international factors ) was the worse Italian ever saw in recent years and the previous governemt was unable to resolve any issue, including the garbage crisis in Naples.

Let's hope !

While my l'Italiano is not at the level that allows me to understand all of the words, leave it to Roberto to comunicare a tutti!

Apparently not everyone believes in "more of the same".

Gianni Alemanno, a member of Berlusconi's coalition is the new Mayor of Rome.It was a triumphal election to put it mildly.

Part of the problem was the unpopular means by which the centre-left coalition balanced the books. The Decreto Bersani has done a lot of damage and people are now very angry.
