[Sorry, second posting, think I put it in wrong place before!]

Wow, I found this Forum after coming to the “Life in Italy” site many times and I’m thrilled. It’s such a wonderful way for people, of all sorts, to share their passion for Italy and, perhaps, make friends.

My ‘Profile’ will tell you all about me but, in short: I am 55, live in London, UK, have a 27-year-old son, a toy poodle and multiple sclerosis (MS)! As a former journalist I now enjoy writing blogs – and on Forums!

I am a quarter Italian (but my mother was adopted so don’t know our genealogy) and have been to Italy twice. I love the whole country (visited Roma, Gubbio and Napoli) but especially Roma. Oh yes, and I studied the language for a couple of years at the University of London and still practise online!

I look forward to meeting you all and getting to know more about Italian life and culture. I’m very happy to be here!

Love, Virginia

I can’t believe I haven’t thanked everyone here for welcoming me yet. I’m really sorry because I meant to, it’s just been one of those times at home. You know: for the Americans tax return month; for some of us English (me anyway), too much paperwork following an unforseen change of circumstances (i.e. son moves out, carer moves in!).

Ah well, I’m back now, happy to be with you and looking forward to seeing, reading and talking, all things Italian.

Thank you again for being so kind.

Love, Virginia
