Hi Everyone,

Have you seen the Olive Garden restaurant? They call that Italian food? It's not, I don't konw what it is but it's no more Italian than American Pizza is.

Let me give you an example, I've just copied this from http://secretrecipes.blogspot.com/2006/10/olive-gardens-alfredo-sauce.html

Olive Garden's Alfredo Sauce
Serving Size: 0

Ingredients:
1 pint heavy cream
1 stick butter
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese - (to 3/4)
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Cooking Directions:
In a saucepan combine butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese. Simmer this
until all is melted, and mixed well. Add the Parmesan cheese and Garlic
powder. Simmer this for 15 to 20 minutes on low. You may wish to season
with a little salt and pepper. It has been made with half-and-half, but
heavy cream is preferred.

So.. what the hell? Why do they have to do this to our food? Ah.. maybe that's not the best example but there's more http://secretrecipes.blogspot.com and on google

He was a Roman that opened a restuarant in the 20's and made a fettucine dish very popular. This was the beginnings to Fettuccine Alfredo, but if Alfredo ever knew how jumbled up it's become! They were smothered in lots of butter and real parmigiano cheese..that is all. Who came up with all these recipes with garlic, cream, nutmeg and parsley? If someone knows please leave a post!
