I love Barneys in Florence, Italy.. if you wander around the center you will run into this little boutique that sells womens clothing, great for those in their 20s and 30s. Most of the clothing is luxurious earth tones. They have gorgeous wool coats in black and ivory- very classic and modern at the same time. I picked up an assymetrical black wool coat trimmed in black leather a few years ago and have been stopped at least several dozen times on the street by other women who want to know where I bought it. The shopgirls are incredibly nice and helpful as well. Sweaters run about $100 and coats around $350, but they are worth every penny.

It is best to arrive at Prada before it opens at 9.30.

The sell Prada, Miu Miu, Helmut Lang. The place is very large and offers the top fashion pieces.


Avoid going on weekends, public holidays or during the peak sale periods (when the best old stock is sent to the stores) Better call before going because sometimes there is a line just to get in.
