We cannot even eat food without: it being mixed with drugs, drugs grown into them. Pesticides that are pure chemicals fed to us in low doses like arsenic on cookies if you'd like to murder your uncle.
the suffering and torture of animals,
The reassurance that our food has actual vitamins after being gased and waxed and processed and left lying around for months, then recolored to look fresh.
Knowing whether or not we bought an apple or the spleen of a sick goat mixed in.
I can only see one thing...our time is ticking, if we dont stop them, they will destroy nature, which will destroy us in return...back to the dinousaurs....we already have cloned animals in the food supply and dont even know it, and they are making cheeses derived from human breast milk. What is the state of the minds of these individuals doing all this? What is their agenda?
The sad part is, 90% of us do nothing, know nothing and continue in oblivion. They take advantage of that.

Consequences of GM Crop Contamination Will Worsen

* Consequences of GM Crop Contamination 'Are Set to Worsen'

The consequences of contamination between GM crops and non-GM varieties will be much more serious with the next generation of GM crops, an influential group of US scientists has warned.

Mixing between GM and non-GM varieties has already caused serious economic losses for producers in lost sales and exports. But the consequences of mixing will be much more serious with new crops that are altered to produce pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals, the scientists argue. The crops could harm human health and be toxic to wild animals.

"What would be the impact societally, economically if for example, cornflakes were contaminated by some sort of drug or chemical? I think it would be a vast impact economically," said Karen Perry Stillerman, senior food and environment programme analyst with the Union of Concerned Scientists.

"I think it's really hard to say [what impact contamination would have] because there is a variety of different drugs and chemicals that might be manufactured in plants this way," she added. "Our perception is that some of them might be toxic, but all of them would certainly cause tremendous economic upheaval."

The group presented its findings at the American Association for the Advancement of Science conference in Boston.

hello jaqueline,
i read your concerns about GMO and i would like to assure you that your fears are not justified: as a graduating student in biotechnology, i can tell you that GMO are surely better than the normal food which is on our plates now, at least they are safer, because of the strict laws which discipline this field.
in my opinion food treated with chemical compounds in order to eliminate parasites or improve its appearence, is much more uncontrolled and the effects of these drugs on human organism have been less investigated if compared to the molecular and physiological analyses required for the patent authorization by agencies such as the American FDA or the European EFSA.
Sometimes it is difficult accepting new technologies, and we fear them until we learn how they work and we get used to them. Past is full of examples, from Lumieres' cinematograph, to Wrights' first plane, from Jenner's first vaccine to Barnard's first heart transplant. So, do not be so frightened! ;)
Cheers,
Stef
