While my hubby & I are staying in Florence for a month on a study abroad trip in June 2008 we have some 3 to 4 day breaks that will give us a chance to take off and explore.

One thing that we want to do is to visit a park and do some hiking. We go camping a lot on various vacations in the US: to parks etc in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Has anyone visited the Parco Nazionale delle Casentinesi that is east of Florence? We won't have a car so will probably be going by bus.

Any suggestions for where to stay?

aren't parks but there are many structure and are incredible....
