I think a big thumbs up needs to go to everyone who contributes to Life in Italy for accurately reflecting the true nature of what it is like to live in Italy. I was reading this article http://www.lifeinitaly.com/news/news-detailed.asp?newsid=7689 and it echoes posts made in a number of threads.
The article is fairly negative, but I am sure we are close to the truth about many of the positive things too. So well done Paolo, your team, and all the contributors.

Well Italian like to complain about everything. So - as an Italian - I have the rights to complain as well. But we ( of course ) get very upset if somebody else critisize our country, I guess it is normal.
It is true however that recently I can feel more dissatisfaction.
