Does Mint count as an Italian herb ? It is used in Italian cooking and there is an article at
http://www.lifeinitaly.com/food/nonna/mint.asp
If mint counts you should be able to find recipe for 'Torta alla Menta' or Torta cioccolato and Menta ( just search on Google )
Torta means Cake
You should also search for Dolce+Menta ( Dolce means sweet - anaything sweet )

Anice in biscotti, cinnamon, and nutmeg, vanilla or candied fruits, but this sure is a tough one. Most Italian deserts call for orange or lemon rinds, or liquors.
Are you speaking of herbs herbs? Like melissa, lavendar or spices?
By Italian herbs you are meaning; basil, oregano ecc?
Thank you for responding so quickly. Herbs that are grown in Italy. When you think of Italy, you think of this herb.
Our theme is Italian Herbs and my section must create a dessert made with an Italian herb. Can you imagine what I felt when I got this assignment? My first thought was Cannoli, however, I couldn't find an italian herb as an ingredient. I had thought about a sprig of mint to decorate the cannoli, but I wasn't sure if there was a mint that was grown only in Italy.
Some of my members think no one would know if I lied about it, but I would. So I am trying to make a dessert using an authentic Italian herb.
I am grateful for any help you can give me. I must present this dessert twice in the next few months. But I need to let them know for sure what I am serving in the next week.
If there is a Italian mint that I can use, please let me know.
Thank You,
Evie:) :)

Hi Evie, one herb that is authentically of Italian origin is Bergamot, I'm not sure yet what has been made with it, although its a citrus, so this one may be worth looking into.
I have found one recipe below which calls for Bergamot. This is considered an herb-- and used as an herb, as well as a fruit; so I don't know it this will work, let me know!
