Hello to anyone out there who may be interested.
My name is Peter and My Mother was born in the small village of Teruzzi, off the road to Rusteghini, near Morfasso, nella Provincia di Piacenza, Emilia Romagna.
Recently my brother Mario and I visited Italy again. It was the fist time for me in over 30 years, I was a teenager and travelled with my Mother.
Mario has visited Italy regularly throughout the same period.
Sadly, all those whom I met there so long ago, were gathered together in the little cemetery at Teruzzi.
Although we didn't make any enquiries, I suspect that there are cugini, once, twice, and thrice removed, still living there.
The family name is Ongeri. Anybody out there who might know of us?
Mum's name was Marianna Ongeri.
Nonno was Giovanni and Nonna was Leopolda, nicknamed 'La Poldina'.
There is more I could say but I won't.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Mario drove the car, and we stayed at 'Albergo Rapacioli' in San Michele. We visited Castell Arquato, San Giorgio, Bardi, Bettola, Morfasso, and enjoyed open air food at the Porcini Festival at San Giorgio.
The food at The Albergo was excellent and we also dined regularly at the 'Ca del Bosco' Rusteghini. You must do so too, if you are nearby. The food, the service, and the ambiance, were so assolutamente italiano, that I would willingly have stayed for the rest of my days, just to enjoy the cuisine.
So I'll stop waxing lyrical and finish. If there are any relatives out there please contact me.
You could always use my hotmail address.
