Hi there. I've been living in Rome permanently for three years now and I have never regretted it for one moment! Rome is such a beautiful city and offers so much to people who have the 'get up and go' factor. I have been an English tutor to children for 2 years and have written articles for English speaking magazines in Rome. I'm currently studying painting at the Accademia di belle arti di Roma and I'm interested in everything to do with culture and the arts. I love the game of polo which is becoming more popular throughout Italy. I love nightlife and all people who have a passion for life in general and want to go places and do things. I've travelled all over Italy not just the touristic parts but many far out, remote, sleepy romantic mountain towns and all the islands surrounding Italy. I love all of Italy but would have to say no town or city compares to Rome. Rome is magical!
My overall dream is to write. I write in English and Italian and would love to write books one day. Answer if you have similar interests!
:D

Sarah,

You are living my life! :)
It sounds perfect.

What first convinced you to move there?
And of course, how did you find the tutoring and writing jobs?

I'm a freelance writer, and an English teacher, here in New Mexico, and I plan to live in Italy for some period of time, sometime in the future. I visit as often as I can until then.

I would love to hear your ideas about the books you're thinking about writing... check out my website to see what I do! (Teaching creative writing, writing coaching and etc.)

I agree about Rome, it is a fabulous city. I fell in love with it when I first visited in 2000.

Do you plan to stay there, or are you going to move out of Italy sometime?

Welcome to the Forum!

Teresa

It seems we do have a bit in common!

I would definitely recommend coming to live in Italy, it takes some courage at first but no doubt you will settle in very soon.

You lead an interesting life too! What type of things do you write and edit?

I have written many short stories, many of them horror themed. I just love writing and expressing myself I have a wide imagination and a poetic, descriptive writing style.

Keep in touch!
:)

Hi Sarah,

My dream... living and writing in Italy.
My life right now... living and writing in USA. Not a bad life, for sure, just not the entire thing. As a friend of mine says... you CAN have it all, you just can't have it all at once. ;)

I write novels, screenplays, magazine articles, essays and non-fiction books. The novels are Westerns and Young Adult. Screenplays are thriller, magazine articles about subjects that interest me... same with essays... non-fiction books are similar but usually something to do with history.

When are you going to start your novel???
