Hi There I am new to this site and hope that I am able to make new friends as well as get fantastic advise.

I was in the planning stages of moving to Italy last December, when disaster struck. This was by way of Tornado..that hit my house. Causing mayhem & damage. I had just handed in my notice too. Luckily for my bosses & colleagues took pity. I was re-instated. The thing is the work on the house is STILL not finished. :( I had gone as far as going to Tuscany to obtain my Codice Fiscale...secure a friends apartment too.As well as trying to open a bank account.

So I am still in London..sad that I am here and thinking I missed a great sumer in Italy.

The thing is I was to go to Tuscany but I fell in love with Rome. I would love to be based there instead. I am gonna to seriously concentrate on my langauge...but have no links in Rome can anyone help??

Are you planning to move to Italia? would love to hear from you.

Best Wishes Ma:D

I live in the US however I go to Rome 4 times a year and I personally know a lot of foreigner living in Rome. The one with a better salary are the one working at international organizations FAO IFAD WFP Embassies etc in case you are looking for a job there. Everybody complains that hosing in Rome is very expensive but if you come from London, well you must be familiar with that. Jacqueline and Mike on this form live near Rome by the way.

The language schools sometimes offer affordable housing for students. If you want to take Italian classes, inquire about help with housing too before you sign up.

Ciao Mama!

I'll be living in Rome too :)

Yes, language schools help you find housing.

Otherwise casa.it, or easystanza.it have room and/or apartments listed. It's a challange to find housing, since many people want to live there, and it's one of the most expensive cities of the world... but it's definitely a wonderful place to move to!

Best of luck!
