Hi guys!
I live in Bari, but I have some relatives in New York (Long Island) and Philadelphia.
I am graduating in "Languages and Cultures fot Tourism" and I found this forum during my surveys for my thesis in "History of Anglo-American Culture".
The subject of my thesis is "The Italian immigration in the U.S.A. especially after the Second World War."
I hope to find something interesting here meeting also new friends.
Nice to meet you!;)

Hi Ester
If you are in Bari it would be nice if you could add some images on our photogallery from Apulia / Puglia.
Here is the address

If you need instructions we can help.
I do not not much about Italian Immgration after WW2 - While at the beginning of the 1900 there was only a one way immigration ( from Italy to the US ) after WW2 things start going both ways. Also many immigrant to the US after WWII have a high education( as an opposite of immigrants 100 years ago )- All the one I know are here because of good job offers due to high skills ( master / phd / MD ) - This is not from a research but it is based on my own circle of friends.

Greetings!
I am an American woman who moved to Bari in August of 2007 since becoming engaged to an Italian native of Bari.
I need some help getting settled in!
I'm looking for a babysitter in Bari for my 15 month old daughter, Siena, and I could aslo use a Personal Assistant to help me look for an office to rent, a housekeeper, children's activities, etc.
If you know of someone or just want to offer some suggestions, please do so!

I think you are so luck to have the chance to live there. I'm sure there will be the times when you wish you were home but it is a wonderful experience. I wish I had some suggestions for you on the getting settled it part...sorry.
I lived in Milan when I was younger and although I didn't really appreciate it then I still remember so much of my time there. We still go back to visit family in southern Italy...not far from you.
How's your paper coming along? Hopefully you've found more informative articles?
